Alma Balletto

Alma was born on Jan 10, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the daughter of the late Louise and Frances Calamari. Alma married Paul Balletto on Dec 5, 1943 and was married for 54 years until his death in March of 1998.

Alma was a devoted loving mother and grandmother who was dedicated to her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Beatrice MacCracken of Oakdale, CT, son David and daughter-in-law Robin Balletto of East Hampton, CT, son Paul Balletto and Valerie Jakubowski of Colchester, CT. Besides her children, she was the loving grandmother of Brian MacCracken who was married to the late Jennifer Riley of Providence, RI, Jennifer MacCracken of Virginia Beach, VA, Kate and Alex Balletto of East Hampton, CT, and also leaves her sister-in-law, Marie Cevasco and several loved nieces and nephews. Alma had three siblings all predeceased, Doris Capone, and Frank and Joseph Calamari.

She was a communicant of St. John’s Church in Uncasville, a member of the Montville Senior Center where she participated in Zumba and Tai Chai classes, and enjoyed her time with the Sunday night bowling mixers. She was an avid reader and never missed Jeopardy.

Calling hours are Saturday from 10am to 11am at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 52 W. Town St., Norwich, CT with interment immediately following at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich.
