December 15, 1943 – December 6, 2021
Arthur, age 77, of Norwich, Connecticut passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. Arthur was born in Norwich on December 15, 1943.
Art was born in Norwich to Rose Marie Quercia and George Leslie Walden on December 15, 1943 at the William W. Backus Hospital. Art was a hard worker who enjoyed his lifetime of building homes and general contracting. He was always seen wearing his jeans and white t-shirt (with a flannel in the winter) and known to even change out of formal attire at weddings into this standard outfit as soon as he could! He was a master at beating up his pick-up trucks because they were work trucks and “that’s what they were built for”! He had every tool you could think of and was proud to use them all on his job sites. When he wasn’t working, he spent his spare time tinkering on side projects, clocks, and his Lionel train collection. Art loved his coffee and shopping for rare finds at Goodwill. Although, he spent most of his time working or tinkering, he did make time to tell a dirty joke to anyone who would listen!
Art leaves behind a large family including his six children, Arthur Walden, Michelle Sposato, Julie Walden, Catherine Waselik, Christopher Walden, and Rebecca Mather; seven grandchildren including Kari Hosp, Anthony Sposato, Leyah Walden, Nicolas Biancarosa, Kaylin Biancarosa, Natalie Walden, and Christopher Walden; and three great-grandchildren Bryson Vachon, Caleigh Vachon, Rylan Vachon. He is also survived by his brother Clarence “Bubby” Walden and his second ex-wife, Penny Walden, with whom he maintained a close relationship. He is pre-deceased by his sisters Marie Tarkowski and Georgiana Avery as well as his brother Edward Walden.
A visitation for Arthur will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Church & Allen Funeral Service, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, Connecticut, 06360. A celebration of life will occur Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Church & Allen Funeral Service.
