Dr Hong and family
It was with shock and sadness that I read of Bonnie's death. I have many vivid memories of getting to know her first professionally and then personally many many years ago. I learned from her (she was so smart) I laughed with her I cried with her. As life has a habit of doing, time and distance sometimes places an invisible wedge between friends and I did not know of her suffering and surgery. I am sorry. I will keep the strong and fond memories. It was my privilege to have known her. June Fliri

I met Bonnie working on the Bernie campaign in Norwich in 2016 when she organized the local office. She was a dynamo. My condolences to Ben, her husband in this time of mourning.

Bonnie was a truly special person. When few others would give me a chance or have faith in me, she was willing to put aside my past and see me for my potential. She believed, that with a bit of support, I could be a good person. She showed me that I should not let my poor choices define my future. Her and Ben, along with the rest of my support network, made it possible for me to turn my life around. I will forever be indebted to them, not able to repay what they did for me but will always strive to pay it forward to others in need. I know that is what Bonnie would want me to do. My deepest condolences to the rest of the Hong family.

Our hearts are heavy today as we extend our love and condolences to Ben and all the family.
Bonnie and I shared a friendship since 1962 and she inspired me to be a better person in countless ways.
God blessed Bonnie with the gift of connecting to all people, especially those most vulnerable , for a reason. She became their voice and championed many causes to improve and lift up people throughout her nursing and political careers. Bonnie LOVED Norwich and it's diversity, and strived to make it better with the accomplishments as City Council President.
She was warm and approachable, intelligent , funny, and adventurous with so much enthusiasm...it became infectious !
Above all, she loved Ben and was so proud of her 3 children and adored Zander.
Bonnie fought a courageous battle with dignity and a smile, and she and Ben enjoyed each "good" day to the fullest.
Her presence will live on in those who knew and loved her.
We celebrate a life WELL LIVED !
