

Catherine J. Landino (McCarthy) of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the age of 79. Born in Norwich, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late James F. McCarthy and Isabelle (Wasilewski) Ruffo.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 43 years Norman Landino of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and her daughter Kristen Landino and Vikrant Agnihotri of Litchfield, Connecticut, as well as three precious grandchildren Veer, Sophie, and Ava Agnihotri. She is also survived by her sister, Diane Ruffo-Nash, and husband Gary Nash of High Wycombe, England; her Aunt, Sister Rita Wasilewski, of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Monroe, Connecticut; cousin Arthur Laux of Norwich, Connecticut; and nephews Walter, Andrew, and Christopher Laux of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Catherine grew up in Norwich, Connecticut. At the age of 16, she entered the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she remained for 8 years. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from the University of Connecticut and then became a teacher at Old Lyme Elementary School in Old Lyme, Connecticut. She went on to marry U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Norman Landino and live in Naples, Italy, eventually settling in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, where she lived for the last 36 years. Later in life, she became a registered nurse and worked at Judge Baker Children’s Center in Boston as well as Westwood Lodge Hospital in Westwood, Massachusetts.
She genuinely loved people and would offer advice to help others. She enjoyed spending time in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She will be sorely missed by family and friends.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph Church, 120 Cliff St., Norwich, Connecticut, on Monday, June 28th at 1pm. A private burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Norwich, Connecticut.
