We are saddened at the passing of my fellow Legionnaire and Past Department Commander Charles Haas. Charlie and I worked together at Electric Boat for twenty years till his retirement and served as Legionnaires for many more years. I remember "Road Trips" with Charlie, Neale Cabral and Gill Sheffield, friends that he now joins in Post Everlasting". Charlie was a stickler for perfection and went "by the book" in his job and in his life. He would take a contrarian point of view on almost any topic just to have a conversation or debate on the merits. Reggie and I send our condolences to his family and his friends. K. Robert Lewis

It is very sad news to hear of the passing of Mr. HAAS. He was a patriotic
American if there ever was one and a strong supporter of Post #4 A.L. All of my sympathy to his family

I am very saddened to hear about the loss of Charlie.

At any given time, you could walk into the American Legion Post 4, and see Charlie there.

He was and is; a "True Blue" American Veteran and he will be missed.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Mr. Haas's Family and dear friends.

My prayers are with the family. Remember many good times long ago with Charlie when we were at Bellows Falls with Legion Color Guard - and so many many other times. He cared about everyone!

I will always remember Charlie as the kind man who live next to me at Meadowridge. He will be missed by many especially the black stray cat he so fondly took care of. Definitely a pleasure knowing him. My sincere condolences go to his family.

Charlie could be very gruff, but he had a soft spot for kids & "his" Post & Veterans. I'm sure wherever he is, he's running a tight ship :) He will be missed...
