Born on October 11, 1952, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Frank and Rebecca (Byrd) McKinstry.
Charles proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged following his service. He later worked in the Steward Department at Mohegan Sun Casino before retiring due to disability.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife and partner of 24 years, Debra Holland; his daughter, Anna McKinstry; three sisters, Henrietta Davis of Ridgeway, South Carolina, Hazel Harris of Baltimore, Maryland, and Mamie Stewart of Chicago, Illinois; and two grandchildren.
