Chris was born on January 20, 1971 in New London. He graduated from Fitch High School and spent much of his very active life enjoying Mystic and the surrounding towns. He entered the hospitality industry and worked his way up to General Manager of various hotels in the area.
Chris married his beloved wife, Dona (Rizzuto) on August 23, 2002. Chris shared a strong relationship with his stepsons, Jacob and Lucas Serwinski. Also included in this wonderful family are Jonah, Isabel and his big-headed buddy, Levi.
Chris enjoyed his family, friends and neighbors, and welcomed everyone into his home on Bliss Place. He touched so many people’s lives. He brought joy and laughter to everyone he met and had the quickest wit. For example, Chris used to say, “We were so poor when we were growing up that we couldn’t afford clothes. When I was eight, my mother bought me a hat so I could look out the window.”
Chris was a member of Gateway Christian Fellowship in West Haven, CT. He was an avid golfer, a great cook, and a wine enthusiast. Chris loved vacationing on Nantucket Island with Dona. Saturday afternoons were sometimes spent relaxing in Stonington Borough. He had a zest for life and was thankful for everything life had to offer.
Christopher is also survived by his sister Katherine Carter of New London. He was predeceased by his mother Joyce Ferguson Carter and father, Ronald O. Carter of Mystic.
Arrangements were private. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 238 West Town Street, Norwich, in Christopher’s memory.
