Gales Ferry — Cynthia M. McLane, age 84, of Gales Ferry, passed away March 21, 2023, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital March 21, 2023, in New London. She was born on April 20, 1938, in Newark, N.J., to the late John Henry and Virginia Dunbar Ott Mahar. She married Michael McLane July 5, 1958, in Elmhurst, Ill.
Cynthia worked as an elementary school teacher in many towns where her husband’s service career took them.
Besides her loving husband, Michael, she is survived by her daughter Hollis Parry; son Christopher McLane; grandchildren: Michael Parry, Chloe Gellenthien and Kathleen McLane; and great-grandson Thomas Gellenthien.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at St. David Episcopal Church, 284 Stoddard Wharf Road, Gales Ferry. Inurnment will immediately follow at the church’s memorial garden. Please visit www.churchandallenfuneralhome.com to leave an online condolence for the McLane family.
