David Sonny Arkus

He was born in Cape May Courthouse, NJ on June 10, 1979 to the late Robert and Joni Rae (Cresse) Arkus. After attending Fitch Senior High School, he worked at various jobs in the construction industry.

Sonny was a big hearted soul who loved his family; he looked up to his older brother, and cherished his mom. He was like an uncle to his many friends’ children - a frequent spectator at their sporting events, cheering them on! He enjoyed golfing with his brother and friends. Sonny was known for his big heart – he had a soft spot for animals. With his great sense of humor, he was sure to make you smile and get you to laugh.

He is survived by his brother Robert Arkus and his wife Melissa, their children Caroline and Elizabeth, his Aunts & Uncle, John & Kendy Clutter of West Virginia and Debra Cresse of Arizona; and many lifelong friends whom he considered family, notably the Nicolosi and Henson families. He was predeceased by his cousin, Benjamin Cresse.

A Calling Hour will be held on Friday, May 2nd from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT with a Memorial Service beginning at 6:30pm. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
