

He was born in Norwich, CT on February 12th, 1922, son of the late William and Anna (Hyatt) Fox .
After high school, David served in the US Army during WWII for three years. He was a decorated WWII Veteran who served in 5 battles during the war: Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, the Battle of the Bulge, and Central Europe. The Norwich Bulletin featured an article about David in its March 20, 2015 issue. He is photographed wearing his Battle of the Bulge hat in the article. The link to the article is as follows:

On January 30th, 1955 he married his beloved wife, Edith Marshall who survives him.
After his years in the service, he studied acting at the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, California. Later he worked as the Assistant Manager and acted in productions at the Norwich Summer Playhouse. Among his roles was an acting assignment with Sarah Churchill, the daughter of Winston Churchill. Other actors he worked with included Buster Keaton, Edward Arnold, Peter Lorre, Burl Ives, Miriam Hopkins, Eve Arden, Janet Blair, and Veronica Lake. He also performed at the Ivoryton Theater and directed plays in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition, he was a radio announcer at WICH in Norwich. He loved the movies of old Hollywood, and adored tinkering with all kinds of cars.
In his later years, David worked for Pratt & Whitney and Electric Boat in the Pipe Department Office until his retirement.
He was a member of the Congregation Brothers of Joseph Synagogue in Norwich.
Besides his wife, David is also survived by his children; Ann and husband Joseph Gimmartino, Nancy Fagan, and two grandsons; Michael Fagan and Brian Fagan and his fiancé Nicole Enteado. He was predeceased by a brother, Samuel Max Fox and sister; Sarah Edmiston.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and his dearest friends, Joe Carchidi, Kathy King, and Dawn Johnson with whom he shared the stories of his many adventures in life.
He was a wonderful and generous man who could captivate an audience with his great wit, charm and sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday March 16th 2017 at 2pm at the Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow at Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery #3 on Middle Rd., Preston, CT.
