On July 1, 2018, David R. Lemieux, of 759 Old Colchester Road, Uncasville, passed away in peace at home, with his wife, daughter and sister-on-law at his bedside. He was 68 years old. He was predeceased by his father, Francis Lemieux, mother, Teri Hood, and another sister, Estelle (Myki). He is survived by his wife, Linda Lemieux, daughter, Alexandra Lemieux, five brothers- Frank Lemieux Jr., Michael Lemieux, Joseph Lemieux, Steven Lemieux and Kenneth Lemieux- and two sisters, Carole Lemieux-Popovics and Patricia Lemieux-Lewis. David was born on March 6, 1950, in Newport News, Virginia. He graduated from Montville High School. He met and married his wife, Linda Carroll, of Colchester Ct, in 1973. David worked for many years as an auto parts manager. David was a respected and talented drummer. He last performed with The Munsell Brother’s Band. His Ludwig drum kit was a great source of pride to David, and he customized it to fit his double-based style. He also had a keen ear for harmony and a beautiful voice. David was devoted to his wife and daughter. He was clever and quick-witted, and loved to make those around him laugh. Our family mourns his loss. Our family is proud that his dignity and sense of humor shone through during his final moments. Our family is certain that this sweet man will find peace with God. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 6th at 10 AM at the St. John Church, 22 Maple Avenue, Uncasville, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Not only was David musically talented, he was a wizard at keeping his cars beautiful. I remember his early 60s white T-Bird and how he labored to keep it spotless and functioning perfectly. He was a runner, and though we never participated in a race together, running with him in the neighborhood just before he started getting his memory lapses was a special memory for me. I'm going to miss you, brother.

David was the best drummer I ever played with, and the nicest human being I have ever known. He always had a smile, a quick one-liner, and a great sense of humor. David just always seemed to make you feel better. I will miss him more than I can say.
