Norwich- Debra Avery, 55 of Washington St., passed away September 21, 2012 at CT Hospice in Branford after a lengthy illness.

She was born March 24, 1957 in Groton, the daughter of Alice (Dort) and the late Carl A. Elliott.

She had worked at the Mohegan Casino as a coin cashier and then worked in accounting.

In addition to her mother Alice, she is survived by her children Carl Hartley of Lebanon, Sarah Avery and Annie Avery of Bozrah, by her grandchildren CJ and Alex, and by her brother Carl and sisters Tammy and Renee.

Burial in St. Josephs Cemetery in Willimantic will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The Church and Allen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
