

He was born on July 15, 1932 in New London, CT to the late Donald S. and Gertrude (Bissland) MacDonald. He graduated from N.F.A. in 1950 and UCONN School of Agriculture in 1952. Scott was active in agriculture his entire life including owning his own poultry farm for 15 years and consulting on many agricultural/poultry issues in several countries as well as being a building consultant up until his death.
On Sept. 26, 1969 he married his beloved Sonia (Karlsson) in Colchester, CT. She predeceased him in 2003.
Scott and his sister Jean organized a one-time reunion of the Montville Center School, a 2-room schoolhouse where they attended which was closed in 1948.
Scott is survived by his children; Craig of Quaker Hill, Cheryl of Southport, NC, Leslie of Uncasville, Robert of Uncasville, Robert Cutler of Waterford, Leslie Kernozek and her husband James of Waterford, grandchildren; Harley and Angie of Uncasville, Lindsey and Kolby Kernozek of Waterford, one great-grandchild; Gunner Kernozek of Waterford, his sister and her husband; Jean & David Pepple of N. Hampton, NH, niece; Tracy Rose, nephew; Stephen Pepple and his loving feline companion, “Roosevelt”.
Besides his wife, Scott is also predeceased by his son; Donald B. MacDonald.
Calling hours will be Friday from noon to 1:30pm with a Funeral Service to begin at that time at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. Burial will immediately follow at New Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, CT.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the American Heart Association or Waterford Animal Shelter, 15 Rope Ferry Rd., Waterford, CT 06385.
