Doreen C. Anderson

Doreen was born in Norwich, CT to parents Raphael and Jeannette LaPrade and grew up in Preston, CT.

She attended Norwich Free Academy class of 1956. She married Theodore J. Anderson and had 4 children.

Doreen was a well known Beautician and business owner. She owned the Golden Touch Beauty Salon on Franklin Street in Norwich before moving to Mystic, CT where she owned and operated several businesses including the Parasol Beauty Salon and the Courtyard Salon.

Doreen moved to Florida in the early 80's with her then Husband Richard Cohen of Stoughton, MA where she owned and operated several more salons. After retiring from the hairdressing business she pursued a career in Real Estate.

After returning to New England in the early 2000's she invested in Real Estate, and she and Richard built their jewelry business while snowbirding to Longwood, FL.

Doreen is preceded in death by her daughter, Katrina Rose Anderson, d. 7/7/77

She is survived by her husband, Richard Cohen, her remaining children, Kris Ronald Anderson, 65, of Petaluma, CA, Kerstin Andrenna Anderson, 63, of Plainfield, CT, Kirk Joseph Anderson, 60, of Campbellsville, KY, and stepson Jeffery Cohen, 62, of Plymouth, MA, and by her grandchildren, William Young, 41, Benjamin Smith, 38, Chelsey Cohen, 30, Ethan Anderson 24, Ana Knapczyk,16, and Archer Anderson, 11.

A brief visitation for Doreen will be held January 16, 2026 from 1-1:30pm at the Labenski Funeral Home 107 Boswell Ave, Norwich followed by a graveside funeral service at 2:00 pm at Maplewood Cemetery 184 Salem Trpk., Norwich, CT.
