Poirier- Edward J. Poirier III 71 ,of Norwich died Jan. 19, 2014 at Backus Hospital. He was born in Norwich son of Edward and Helen Poirier II. He was the former owner operator of Poirier Drywall. He is survived by his sons Edward Poirier IV, Jason Poirier, and Christopher Poirier. He also leaves his stepson Charles McMahon, a sister Roberta Pierce, and a brother Tofie Poirier as well as 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and many other relatives. He was predeceased by his wives Jean Ouiemette Poirier, and Karen Batty Poirier, a sister Jo-Ann Mecouch, and a brother in law David A. Pierce. Visitation will be Thursday Jan. 23, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Labenski Funeral Home 107 Boswell Avenue Norwich. A procession will be leaving from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. to burial in St. Joseph Cemetery Norwich.
