
Bozrah-Evelyn Kelman, age 90, of Bozrah, died early on December 24, 2014 in Hartford Hospital. She was born in Yonkers, New York on July 29, 1924 to the late Edwin and Edith (Hendrickson) Jarvas, was raised in the Bronx, and lived all of her adult life in Bozrah, CT.
Evelyn married her childhood sweetheart, Howard C. Kelman, on September 18, 1943 in Yonkers, NY. Together they built their home and raised a family of 4 children who survive her. They are: a son Steven and his wife Judith Kelman of Searsport, ME, a son Jeffrey Kelman and his wife Annabelle of Glenburn, ME. a daughter Judith C. Kelman of Norwich and a daughter Laraine Kelman of Putnam. Evelyn is also survived by a sister Marjorie Fedorka of Voluntown and a brother Richard E. Jarvas of Griswold; she was pre-deceased by a sister Jean Fedorka and a brother Edwin R. Jarvas. Evelyn also leaves behind three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Evelyn was a hard worker, a kind helper to others, and loved her family well. She was an active member of Jehovah's Witnesses from childhood.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Hartford Hospital for their excellent care and to all her local doctors who cared for her so well.
