

Frank was born May 10, 1930 in West Haven, CT, the son of the late Graydon C. and Jessie May (Larkin) Wagner.
Frank was a 1948 graduate of the Norwich Free Academy and received his bachelor of science in chemistry from the University of Connecticut in 1952. After starting his career as a high school chemistry teacher, he left the field in 1957 to work for American Cyanamid Co. as a paper chemist. He retired from the company in 1992.
Frank married June Pauline Sparks Wagner on August 8, 1953 in Norwich, CT. June passed away on August 29, 1997. On October 17, 1999, Frank married Kitty Moody Wagner in Orange, CT. She survives him.
Frank was a multi-talented fellow with wide-ranging interests. He was a car enthusiast and self-taught mechanic. He loved playing golf, badminton, pool, and cards, and was a spelunker. As a young man, he was a rabid fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers, and, when his career led him to New Orleans, he became a devoted fan of the Saints. He was an avid reader, particularly enjoying mysteries, military history, food, and travel. He was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity and the Connecticut Sports Car Club.
In addition to his loving wife Kitty, he is survived by his sons, Kenneth L. Wagner and his wife Theresa A. Flynn of Syracuse, NY, and Paul S. Wagner of Baton Rouge, LA, his brother, Richard H. Wagner of Daphne, AL ,and by his grandchildren, William L. Wagner-Flynn, Megan E. Wagner-Flynn and Evan P. Wagner-Flynn. He is also survived by his nephews: Graydon C. Wagner III, William A. Wagner, Brian A. Cofone and Steven A. Cofone.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Graydon C. Wagner Jr. and his wife Mary Agnes Young Wagner.
Calling hours will be held at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St. in Norwich, on Wednesday evening from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 am at the Church and Allen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
