

Frank was born in New York City but lived the majority of his life in Norwich, CT. He was a member of St Joseph Church in Norwich, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was gregarious, enjoyed meeting and talking with old and new friends, and was always a gentleman.
He enjoyed sports, baseball as a player, coach and umpire, he was an avid golfer continuing to play into his 90s and he was a devoted fan of the UConn Women basketball team to the end. Frank was known for his gardening skills and sharing his vegetables with his neighbors and friends. He was a lifetime member of the Elks and received the honor of Elk of the year.
Frank served in the Navy during WWII, after discharge he had several careers, including owning a bowling alley, working at the Coast Guard Academy and USN Underwater Systems Center. Frank had a late career working part time at the Mohegan Sun until his 90s.
Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years Julia Gwudz Yankiewicz and his son Frank J Yankiewicz. He is survived by his daughter Janet Yankiewicz-Levin and her husband Allen Levin of East Hartford CT, his son Joseph Yankiewicz of East Hampton and his granddaughters Stella and Carissa Yankiewicz. Frank is also survived by a very large extended family and a multitude of friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 17th at St. Joseph Church, 120 Cliff St., Norwich, CT at 10am with burial at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Colchester with Military Honors. Visitation will be Thursday evening, April 16th from 6pm to 8pm at the Labenski Funeral home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, CT and again beginning at 9am the day of the service.
