Dear Members of the Brown Family---I just learned of Gail's passing, and I want to express my sincere condolences. Gail was a good friend of mine back in the late eighties, and early nineties. I let some of her Rhode Island friends know, and some of us are planning to do a type of Memorial gathering for her. Dear Gail..you have been on my mind..so many memories of our beginnings at Central Baptist where our families went back generations..meant to be. Friends for so long and so much a part of your family, Nantucket with your Mom ..sister Sally and Sarah. Many trips back to Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Block Island, and even Bermuda! My sympathy's for the family!  I remember Gail back in the mid 60's riding her horse with us at the stables.  She was such a natural on a horse at such an early age!  She loved those animals and was capable of riding just about anything!  I will always remember her with a smile on her face riding those horses!

Gail was a wonderful woman. I enjoyed  numerous conversations with her on a variety of subjects. Throughout her treatments, as ill as she was, Gail would be present in worship on Sunday mornings; she was an inspiration to so many people! She was a big help with special projects and events at the church -- always doing what she could for others. She was with us for a  brief time, but during that time she touched lives! I'm grateful that our paths crossed. She will be missed.

It has been many years since we spent time with the 5 of you and Gail....such happy memories we created with all our shared activities. Gail was always ready for fun and so much of it revolved around Spot and Peanuts and eventually other horses. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. A NEW LIFE HOMECARE

I remember Gail riding Mr. Fred Copp's beautiful Hackney stallion, Duke, at Rolling Meadows Farm in a saddle seat equitation class. I believe she had some lessons from Colleen Watson. Gail rode beautifully. She wore a sky blue coat, jodhpur boots, and a grey derby hat. 
I remember riding with her, she had a beautiful chestnut gelding named Cocoa Puff/Red Cedar.
I will never forget her beautiful eyes...

I knew the Brown family through church when we were young and spent some beautiful days at "summer camp" at their lovely home. Making crafts and hiking through their back pastures. Gail and I became friends at NFA where we shared some of the same classes and immediately shared the same love of horses. I remember "Buster Brown" even after all these years.
Gail was a beautiful person, inside and out, and although very saddened of hearing this news, I am so grateful for having a chance to have known her.

I only met Gail a couple years ago when she became active at the Preston City Congregational Church.  She attended Monday morning Bible studies, and when she was well enough, was there almost daily to help with the ever abundant clerical work.  I enjoyed her brilliant mind and her directness.  She was comforted to be able to spend her last days at home with Milo and her compassionate caregiver Robin from A New Life Homecare.  I will miss Gail and her wonderful smile.

Our family moved to Northwest Corner around 1960.  The kids in our family became friends with the kids in the Brown family soon after.  I will always remember Gail as being a very kind person.  Andrea and I saw her a few years ago at the Peqout Museum after not seeing her for quite  a while.  Her voice, which sounded very much like her mom's, bought me back to our childhood.  Some great memories happened at the house and Gail was very much part of the fabric of a wonderful family. I wish Gail peace and offer my sympathy to the family.

As little kids I think I spent more time at the Browns's then at home.  That's because Gail had ponies.  We spent a few summers riding Spot and Peanut, or hitching them to the cart with Eric mastering the reins around town.    Then there was Coco, the wonder horse, who could follow the trails without a bridle, with two little kids on his back. As adults, the horse shows became the  common thread  in our continued friendship. My sincere condolences to the family on the loss of my friend, neighbor and fellow equestrian.

Allyn and Kim, Tim and I are saddened to hear of the death of your sister. We are thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.

I was with Gail when we met with her cancer doctors at the Yale New Haven hospital when they declared that Gail would only have ninety days to live. I was shocked by their blunt and abrupt manner, but Gail seemed unphased by the seemingly dire news. I am certain that she outlived the Doctor's prediction by several months. Until the last seven days of her life, Gail continued on as normal. After following her as she drove her car recently, I asked her to not drive her car anymore. Although she began to have panic attacks, she otherwise continued on with her life as if everything was normal. Certainly, her positive attitude made you believe that everything was normal. The last seven days were a sad time and I am sorry to see her gone.

What a great woman.  There are no words; rest in peace Gail.  I just heard from you a year ago and didn't know you were suffering.  To all her family and friends, my sympathy and more.
