“Mickey”, as he was known, was born on Jan. 5, 1923 in Claremont, New Hampshire to the late Arthur and Elise Brodeur.
He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Pauline Brodeur, and their loving son Gerald Brodeur.
He and Pauline relocated from New Hampshire to Connecticut where he found work playing drums for local big bands.
He also worked at the Thermos Company retiring after 40 years, and most recently retired as a part-time employee of Big Y Foods.
He was a gentle and kind husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first.
Gerard is survived by a son, Donald Brodeur and his wife Susan of Barkhamsted, daughters Victoria Ratte and her husband Norman of Somers and Brenda Adams and her husband Mike of Canterbury, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville on Wednesday, April 30th at 10:00 am with burial immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery.
