Gregory Gentile

NORWICH - Gregory Gentile, 71, of Mohegan Rd., passed away May 3, 2021 at the Hartford Hospital.

Greg was born July 14, 1949 in Norwich, the son of the late Francis and Sophia (Trasko) Gentile. He married Carolyn Sarazewski March 16, 1974 at St. Mary’s Church in Jewett City. She survives him.

He served in the United States Navy. He was a graduate of UCONN where he received his BA in accounting. After college, he worked as an auditor for the US Defense Dept. working for the Defense Contract Audit Agency. He then worked as a Contracts Manager for Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield, CT for 27 years. He then moved to Torrence, CA where he worked as a Contracts Manager for Moog, Inc. Upon his retirement, he moved back to Norwich.

He enjoyed fly fishing, woodworking and doing crossword puzzles with his best friend Richard. Above all else, he especially enjoyed going to see his grandsons play baseball and basketball.

In addition to his loving wife Carolyn of 47 years, he is survived by his sons Jason Gentile of Hebron, CT and Kyle Gentile of Redondo Beach, CA, by 3 grandsons Noah, Gavin and Nolan and by his brother Paul Gentile of Gales Ferry, CT.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Greg’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Association.

The Labenski Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
