Born to Theodore M. and Jennie M. (Switzer) Larsen in Norwich. In 1967 joining in marriage to Lucy M. Sobeleski; finding happiness with the love of his life. She predeceased him in 2005.
Coming from a large family of four brothers and 2 sisters Theodore R., Richard H., Burtis M., Charles, Edith, and Carol M. Larsen, whom all predeceased him.
Employed at King Seely Thermos for 44 years from 1945 until its closing in 1989 and Arrow Paper/US Fords from 1989-2000 retiring in 2001 spending time focusing on his Farm (as he like to call it) his family and extended family.
He was a person of old school values that his handshake was his word and his word was his reputation. From his early years he came from a hardworking background doing chores after school to fulfilling his obligations after work growing up.
He was owner of Larsen Bros. Construction, performing septic cleaning, yard work and various jobs as well as hauling cars for people for many years. He was the type of person to always tip his hat to say “Hello” and “Nice to see you again.” He will always be remembered as a soft spoken “Tell it like it is” kind of person sometime upsetting his bosses as well as friend and family with the expressing of his feelings and statements. One of his favorite pastimes was going to auctions as well as tractor and car shows.
He leaves behind a nephew Robert Larsen of Norwich, two nieces Linda Larsen of Norwich and Nancy Fowler of New London as well as extended family.
