Harvey was born July 1, 1946 in Eufaula, Alabama, the son of the late John Edward and Annie (McElroy) Smith.
He had retired as a sheet metal mechanic at Electric Boat/General Dynamics.
He is survived by his son Lorenzo Smith of Chicago, IL, brother James Smith and wife Pam of Norwich, sister Delors Corbitt and husband Julius of Eufaula, Alabama, by several nieces and nephews and by his cousin Eddie Lassiter of New Haven, CT
A funeral service will be held at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St. Norwich, on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11 am. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
