Helen C. Gwiazdowski

Helen Carol Gwiazdowski, 90, of Norwich, CT, died February 14, 2016 at the Whitney Center in Hamden CT. She was the wife of the late Peter Gwiazdowski. Helen was born in Norwich, March 10, 1925. She graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1943 and received her RN from Bridgeport School of Nursing in 1946. She was a long time member of the Norwich Women’s City Club and St. Joseph’s Church where she was active in the Ladies Guild and the Rosary Society. She was also an active bridge player throughout her life. She is survived by her daughter Joan Elliott (Zane Helsel) and Ann Marie Borelli (John Borelli) and her son Peter (Debra) Gwiazdowski III, and her grandsons Whitney Elliott (Melissa Ruopp) and Paul Gwiazdowski, as well as twin great grandson Grant and Noah Elliott. Mrs. Gwiazdowski was predeceased by her husband Peter P. Gwiazdowski, her daughter Gale Scala, and her grandson Stephen Elliott and Peter Gwiazdowski IV. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Feb.19, 2016 11:00 a.m. in St. Josephs Church Norwich. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Norwich. There are no calling hours .
