

He was born on January 30, 1930 to the late Barney and Dorothy (Bank) Sayet, in Bronx NY and was raised in NY City.
Irwin graduated from UCONN and was a member of the Phi Sigma Delta fraternity and was married to his beloved wife Phyllis (Rosen) for 62 years. He was a successful businessman, owning and operating The Floor Covering Shop in Norwich for over 50 years until retiring to Florida.
He loved to travel and collect mementos on trips as well as playing backgammon, tennis, reading and socializing on the golf course. He belonged to the Pautipaug Country Club, was a member of the Lions Club, was past Vice President of the Beth Jacob Synagogue, and volunteered at the soup kitchen.
Irwin is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons; Mark Howard Sayet and his wife Hedy, Atty. Bart Andrew Sayet and his wife Lori Lindfors, son-in-law; Scott Seder, grandchildren; Rachel, Madeline, David, Alexis, Evan, Dara, Michael, Lindsay and Griffin and great-grandchildren; Gage, Reygan and Reylan. He was predeceased by his daughter, Laura Beth Seder.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 10th at 11am at Temple Emanu-El, 29 Dayton Rd, Waterford, CT., with burial immediately following at Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery #3, Middle Rd., Preston, CT. Shiva will be observed that evening at the home of Bart Sayet and Lori Lindfors, 37 Butternut Dr., Norwich, CT.
