James Serwinski

James was born December 16, 1955 in Poland, the son of Julia (Wezner) Serwinski and the late Kazimierz Serwinski.

He attended grammar school at St. Josephs in Norwich and was a 1974 graduate of Norwich Free Academy. He was a 1975 graduate of Thames Valley State Technical College, where he received his degree in Architectural Drafting Technology.

He married Cindi (Keith) May 16, 2008 in Preston CT. She survives him.

He had worked as a security guard at United Nuclear and then as a Draftsman and Sewer Plant Operator for Norwich Public Utilities, retiring in 2011.

He was a first degree, 20 year member of the Taftville K of C. He loved soccer, the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox. He had a very strong bond and love for their 8 week old black lab pup, Maxi.

In addition to his loving wife Cindi and his mother Julia, he is survived by, brother Richard Serwinski (Helena), Joe Serwinski (Kris), sister Donna Sebastian (Ken) and by several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his step son Mike Marino (Gloria), and step daughter Heather Spaulding (Donald).

In addition to his father Kazimierz, he was predeceased by his son James (Jay) Serwinski Jr.

Calling hours will be held at the Labenski Funeral Home in Norwich on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 10 am until 12:30pm and will proceed to a 1pm Funeral Mass at the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
