

Jason Matthew Riley, 45, of Baltic, passed away on June 22, 2026. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Those who knew him best will fondly remember his stubborn determination, his quick wit, and his meticulous nature. He lived life with quiet strength, a love for the outdoors, and a deep devotion to his family and friends.
Jason was born on January 19, 1981, in Norwich, the son of the late Wilfred J. and Myra (Ukarma) Riley. He graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1999 and held various jobs before joining the family business, where he worked as an HVAC technician for Riley’s Heating Service for the past 15 years.
He was an avid snowboarder and fisherman. He took pride in maintaining his yard and caring for his plants. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved son, Derek, and his dog, Sadie. He is survived by his son, Derek Riley; his brother, Will Riley; his aunt and uncle, Irene and Ed Donovan; his cousins, Sandy Donovan Driscoll and Sharon Donovan; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and close friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 6, 2026 at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St. Norwich from 5 pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 10 am, meeting directly at the Cathedral. Burial will be private for the family.
