Joan M. Michener Heist

Heist- Joan Michener Heist of Norwich, went home to her Lord at Backus Hospital on March 27, 2013. Joan was a loving wife and mother. She was very active in the Lord’s Work as He led her each day. She had attended Bryn Mawr Nursing School in the late 40’s. She was active in the Cub Scouts as a Den Mother. She was manager of clothing stores in Westerly RI . and East Lyme. She retired from that in 1981. A Memorial Service will be held at the Church and Allen Funeral Home 136 Sachem Street Norwich on Thursday April 4, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. Joan is survived by her husband Robert, daughter Linda Medrano and her husband John of Norwich, sons Robert Jr. and his wife Janice of Norwich, Frank and his wife Charlene of Groton, and James and his wife Betty of Norwich. She also leaves a sister Margaret Markel of Collegeville PA. and a brother Jim of Mt. Laurel NJ. Joan also leaves 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
