John F Avery 85, passed away peacefully July 2nd, 2026 surrounded by his family. Born on July 21,1940 in Norwich CT, John dedicated more than 30 as grounds supervisor at the Norwich Hospital, prior to that John served in the U.S Airforce.
He was known for his kindness, generosity, and love of his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary, his children Lynne, April and John and five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and sister Debra Stake. He was preceded in death by his parents Lauriston and Mae Avery, hjs brothers Donald & Larry.
He was an honorary member of Tuckerbung association.

There will be a private graveside service at the convenience of his family. A Celebration of life for John will take place at a later date.
