John was born July 1, 1951 in Norwich, the son of the late Milton and Muriel (Trachtenberg) Jacobson.
After attending Marquette University, John moved to New York in 1973. There he had a variety of jobs in both wholesale fabric printing and retail fashion. Since the mid-nineties, he was self-employed as a professional dog trainer. He is survived by his brothers Matthew Jacobson of Ashland, MA, Bill Jacobson of Brooklyn, NY, and nieces Hannah and Candice Jacobson of Norwich.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Church and Allen Funeral Home in Norwich at 11. Burial will follow in the First Hebrew Society Cemetery in Preston.
