Jack had many occupations but was most notably a veteran of the US Air Force, a Firefighter for the city of Norwich and a Correction Officer for the state of CT. He loved playing and watching all sports (except golf). He coached youth and women's softball teams. An avid NY Yankee's fan, he enjoyed watching games and talking about the championships they won so long ago. He was always willing to help family, friends and even those he didn't know.
Jack is survived by his wife Lynn, daughter Paige Smith, sons Tom Smith, Joe Chaisson and Vince Chaisson as well as five grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers.
All friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life, which will be held at his residence on July 17, 2021, from 1pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army (www.salvationarmyusa.org)or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital(www.stjude.org)
The family would like to thank Palliative Care and Hospice Care for the exceptional care they supplied in Jack's final days.
