

He was born in Terlizzi Italy on Aug. 24, 1926 to the late Pasquale and Maria (Romano) Amodeo. He married his beloved wife Nicoletta (DeLeo) in Italy on April 11, 1953. He and his family came to the US, making Norwich their home 1966.
While in Italy, Joe was an accountant by profession. In the United States, Joe worked at United Nuclear until his retirement. He also worked at the former JB Martin as a supervisor, and at CT Beverage.
Joe loved the game of soccer, and coached the sport for over 25 years with the Norwich P.A.L. soccer league, and at Saint Bernards high school. While he enjoyed gardening every chance he could, his joy was his family, who he adored and they, in turn, adored him.
He is survived by his wife; Nicoletta, daughters; Maria and husband Danny Gorby, Angela and husband Tony Koronkiewicz, son; Pasquale and wife Anne (Clark) Amodeo, one sister; Joanna Grillo, grandchildren; Carolyn, Joseph, Victoria, Alexis, Julia, Pasquale, and Nic, one great-grandson; Dylan, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Francis Amodeo, and two sisters; Frances Grillo and Luigina Quadrello.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 26th at 10:00am at Sts Peter and Paul Church, 180 Elizabeth St., Norwich, CT meeting directly at the church. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Norwich. Calling Hours are Thursday, Feb 25th from 5pm – 7pm at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Av., Norwich, CT.
