Pittsburgh, PA – Joshua Louis Weinstein, 35, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 25, 2018. Joshua was born June 21, 1983 in Pittsfield, MA, the cherished son of Charles and Diane (Israelite) Weinstein.
Joshua attended Pittsfield Public Schools, was a graduate with honors from Brown University, and attended Tufts University Medical School. He was most recently employed as a milieu therapist at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic – at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He also worked as a math and science tutor and his goal was to empower his students. Josh was a wordsmith who devoured good books, loved music, nature, and the arts. He was smart, creative, open minded, and kind.
In addition to his parents, Joshua is survived by his adoring sister, Laura Israelite Clews of Pittsburgh.
A family graveside funeral service will be held in Preston, Connecticut on Friday. The family will receive condolences on Sunday July 1, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Knesset Israel Synagogue on Colt Road in Pittsfield. Minyan will take place in the library at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
