Kathleen Kay Rose Delaney Dixon

NORWICH- Kathleen Rose (Delaney) Dixon, 81, beloved wife of William Dixon, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 following a short battle with cancer. She was born in Norwich on April 10, 1928 to the late James and Catherine (Rushford) Delaney.Kay was a 1946 graduate of NFA, she married Bill on September 19, 1949 at St. Mary’s Church in Greenville and they raised two daughter. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a life member of the Women’s City Club of Norwich; she enjoyed gardening, the beach and golf. Kay is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Dixon of Norwich; daughters, Barbara Sterry of Norwich and Linda Lunt and husband Danny of Bar Harbor, ME; her sister Patricia Korenkiewicz of Norwich; grand children Ellen Sterry of Norwich and Kyle Spratt of Bar Harbor; three nephews and her beloved grand dog, Orbit. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her step-father Owen Kain who helped raise her after her father died and nephew Michael Korenkiewicz.A wake will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 6-8pm at Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich. A 10am Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Broadway, Norwich with a private burial to follow.
