

Norwich- Our beloved Laura B. Seder, 49, of 43 Ox Hill Road, Norwich, CT, passed away on November 18, 2010. She was born in Stamford, Connecticut, October 24, 1961 and married the love of her life Scott H. Seder on May 28, 1989. Laura has two adoring children, Alexis, age 17, and Evan, 14. Laura was a partner in the Norwich Law firm of Sayet and Seder, Attorneys at Law. Her practice concentrated in the areas of Family, Real Estate, Collection, and Indian Law, related to Child Welfare. Laura graduated high school from Williams School in 1979, Goucher College in Towson, Maryland in 1983, and received her Juris Doctorate from the University Of Miami School Of Law in 1986. Laura was a member of the New London County, Connecticut and American Bar Associations. She was a Tribal Prosecutor for the Mashantucket Tribe representing child welfare matters. She is admitted to practice before all of Connecticut and Florida State Courts, various Federal Courts, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Courts, and the Mohegan Gaming Disputes Court. She also was a past board member of the Integrated Day Charter School Foundation, the Norwich Community Development Corporation, Beth Jacob Board of Education, Williams School Alumni Board of Directors, and past President of the Norwich Jaycees. Laura was a tenacious athlete who excelled in tennis and golf, winning many tournaments throughout her life. Laura was a volunteer for the annual hospice walk-a-thon and participated in fundraising activities for the Nicaragua Foundation.
Laura is survived by her loving and devoted family; husband, Scott H. Seder of Norwich, their two children, Alexis and Evan, her parents Irwin and Phyllis Sayet, parents-in-law Walter and Marlene Seder, brother Mark Sayet and wife Hedy Sayet, brother Attorney Bart Sayet and his wife Lori Lindfors, brothers-in-law Jeffrey Seder, Todd Seder, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Beth Jacob Synagogue, 400 New London Turnpike, Norwich, CT 06360. Interment will follow at the Norwich Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery, 60 Middle Road, Preston CT 06365. In observance, the family will receive guests at the Seder home, 43 Ox Hill Rd. Norwich CT, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Laura B. Seder’s memory may be made to Backus Hospital Cancer Services, 326 Washington Street, Norwich Connecticut, 06360.
Laura was blessed by a close circle of friends that filled her life with joy. Even after death, those friends continue to provide support to her family and for that the family is extremely grateful. Laura’s doctors provided outstanding support and high quality of care throughout her illness. Everyone Laura touched loved and cherished her. She was a caring person, conscientious lawyer, competitive athlete, and a gentle soul. To know her was to love her.
