Leo T. Rankowitz 83 of Oakdale, died Friday March 22, 2013. He was the husband of Joan (Petrone) Rankowitz. He was born in Norwich, son of the late Stanley and Bertha (Mackiewicz) Rankowitz. Mr. Rankowitz was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was employed at Pfizer Co. until his retirement. Mr. Rankowitz was a member of the Norwich Elks Lodge 430, the American Legion Post 4 of Norwich, and the Westbrook Fish and Game Club. Besides his wife he is survived by a son and daughter in law, Robert J. and Joan Rankowitz of Niantic. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Rankowitz Davis and her husband Jarah, and Brett Rankowitz, as well as three great grandchildren, Landon, Hailey,and Jackson. He was predeceased by his brothers, Stanley, Joseph, Charles, and Louis, and his sister Bertha. Funeral Services and burial will be private. Memorial Donations in his name may be made to the Hospice of Southeastern Connecticut 227 Dunham St Norwich, CT 06360. The Labenski Funeral Home Norwich has charge of the arrangements
