

Born at home in L’Anse, Michigan, on July 31, 1933, Lyle was the son of the late Leonard and Ellen Lindstrom. He faced the loss of his mother at the young age of five and grew up as one of five siblings. He graduated from L’Anse High School and then went on to serve in the United States Navy.
While stationed in New London, Lyle met and married the love of his life, Mona. Together, they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2009.
After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Lyle began a long and fulfilling career in the airline industry, retiring from US Airways after 43 years of dedicated service. Known for his kind heart and gentle spirit, Lyle had a deep love for boating, fishing, the outdoors, especially keeping his yard meticulous and riding on his tractor. There was always room in his heart for animals—especially dogs. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and was happiest surrounded by family.
In retirement, he and Mona enjoyed winters in their Englewood, Florida condo, where he found joy at the beaches and watching the sunsets.
Lyle is survived by his two loving daughters, Tracy (Patrick Sr.) DesRocher and Sandra Lindstrom; his cherished grandchildren Patrick Jr. (Alex), Madison (Ryan), Shane, Justin, Josh and Cooper, and his dear sister-in-law, Annette Lindstrom of L’Anse, Michigan. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews along with their families, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind his cherished cat Tabitha.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mona; his parents Leonard and Ellen; his brother Dale Lindstrom; and his sisters and brothers- in-law Miriam (Leonard) Goddard, Janice (Dale) Friess, and Ellen (Fred) Biekkola.
Lyle will be laid to rest with military honors. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours and burial will be private.
Lyle’s life was one of quiet strength, enduring love, and unwavering dedication to family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
