Mabel G Balcom Rathbun

She was born on November 26, 1920 in Pascoag, RI to the late Delor W. and Helen (Carpenter) Balcom. She attended schools in both Rhode Island and CT. On June 17, 1939 she married her beloved Irving Palmer Rathbun who predeceased her in July 1990.

Mabel worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life at Thermos, Fishers Big Wheel and Constant Brothers.

She is survived by her daughter-in-laws; Carol-Lou (Rathbun)Ballaro and Linda Rathbun both of Franklin, CT , Grandchildren; Cindy-Lou Roberts of Norwich, Wendy and Corey Gaudette, Kelly and Daniel Martin, Robert and Deb Rathbun, Jeffrey and Jane Rathbun, Jennifer and Tim Guernsey, all of Franklin; twelve great-grandchildren,along with nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Mabel was also predeceased by both of her sons. Richard P Rathbun died in February of 1995, Robert A. Rathbun died July 2010. All of her siblings passed on before her; brothers: Frederick, Raymond and Donald Balcom, and sisters: Edith Kapas, Doris Benson, and Helen Leduc.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 20th at 10:30AM at Franklin Congregational Church, 31 Meetinghouse Rd., Franklin, CT. There will be no calling hours.
