

NORWICH—Mary (Allegretti) Lemoine, 92, of Norwich passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the W.W. Backus Hospital after a brief illness. Born January 18, 1923 in Norwich, Mary was the daughter of Jack and Nancy Allegretti. Mary was predeceased by her husband Roland (Tim) Lemoine, brothers Tom Allegretti and Frank (Chic) Allegretti, and sisters Julia Allegretti and Nancy (Allegretti) Giommi. Mary is survived by daughter Diane (Lemoine) Tolokan and her husband Tim of Storrs, CT, son Roland (Ron) Lemoine of Branford, CT, granddaughter Lindsey Lemoine of Storrs, CT, grandchildren John & Julia Lemoine of Guilford, CT, sister-in-law Liliane Allegretti of Niantic and several nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Norwich, Mary enjoyed her work and many colleagues during her years as a secretary at Norwich Free Academy. A member of Pautipaug Country Club for more than 40 years, Mary and her entire family cherished numerous joyous occasions at PCC, especially Mother’s Day Dinners and Mary also was a member of the Ladies’ nine-hole league. Mary was a long-time member of the Italian Junior League . A loyal supporter of the University of Connecticut Basketball programs, Mary attended the 1999 NCAA Final Four in St. Petersburg, Fl. as the UConn Men’s Program won its first NCAA National Championship. Relatives and friends of Mary are invited to call at Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Avenue, Norwich, CT on Wednesday, March 4, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mary Lemoine will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Patrick, 213 Broadway, Norwich, CT. Everyone is requested to go directly to the Church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary Lemoine's name may be made to the Pat & Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center.
