

March 29, 1919 – January 31, 2015
Mary (Brague) LeVangie Pearl, born on March 29, 1919 in Stratford, CT, daughter of the late Louis J. and Ethel (Chaffee) Brague, entered eternal rest on Jan. 31, 2015.
A graduate of Stratford High School in1937, Mary attended Booth and Bayliss and Goddard Business Schools in Bridgeport. She was employed at Underwood Co. in Bridgeport in the Cost Accounting Department for 5 years.
On May 1, 1943 she married John P. LeVangie of Braintree, MA. They lived in Hanson, MA until 1955 when they moved to Preston.
The entire family, from the youngest to Dad, was involved in the community through Scouts, 4-H, Little League, Grange, and Preston City Fair. Many remember John’s beautiful gladiolus, and Mary serving on the Board of Education.
John died very suddenly on March 18, 1968. In 1970, Mary married William Pearl of Hampton. Upon Bill’s death in October 1989, Mary returned to Norwich to be near family and friends.
Mary is survived by her four children John P. (Carolyn) LeVangie, Eloise Harrison, Daniel LeVangie, Suzanne (Ronald) Schmidt and six grandchildren, Donald Harrison, Stephen and Robert Schmidt, Christina (Schmidt) Spindler, Dawn and John LeVangie. A sister, Eloise Rogers of Norwich, and a baby brother, John, predeceased her.
Since 2008, Mary had been a resident at the Fairview Odd Fellows Home in Groton, CT. The family would like to thank the entire staff for the loving care of their mother.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 14th, 2015 at 11am at Lee Memorial Methodist Church, Washington St., Norwich, CT.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
