Hartford after a brave battle with an extended illness. He was born in Norwich on December 10, 1977 to
Diane P. (Larkin) and the late Russell L. Rice.
Matt had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed riding on his quad. He was a graduate of Norwich Free
Academy and the Baron Institute of Technology and was a poker dealer at Foxwoods Casino.
In addition to his loving mother Diane Martin and her husband Don of Groton, he leaves behind a sister
Stephanie Rice of Norwich and extended family Ursula Lindsay of Norwich and Gloria Diamond and her
husband Joseph Dufresne of Putnam.
Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich on Monday
October 25. Calling hours are from 2pm to 4pm with a memorial service following. Burial will be private
and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Matt’s honor to
charity.
