

Maureen V. Taylor, 81, beloved wife of Kenneth E. Taylor of Norwich, Connecticut passed away on Sunday January 14, 2018. Maureen was born March 26, 1936 in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late Raymond Joly and Victoria Misiewicz. Her stepfather was the late Francis Johnson. She graduated from the Saint Xavier High School in Cranston, RI. Kenneth and Maureen met at the ages of 14 and 15 and would spend the rest of their lives together as soulmates. They dated for 4 years before marrying on May 8, 1954. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and her family meant the world to her and she to them. Maureen and Kenneth were devoted Catholics and would say the rosary every day together. Kenneth and Maureen lovingly raised five children together, David K. Taylor, wife Cindy, Cheryl A. Taylor, husband Barton, Linda J. Gears, husband Ernest, Russell S. Taylor, wife Robin and Michael A. Taylor, wife Denise. They have 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Maureen loved to read and was a frequent visitor to Otis Library. She loved cardinals, flowers, puzzles and was an avid Red Sox fan. A mass of Christian burial for Maureen will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Saint Patrick Cathedral, 213 Broadway St. Norwich, Connecticut. A PRIVATE interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Harland Road Norwich, Connecticut 06360. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's hospital or Boy's Town in her memory.
