

Nancy Lewis Snarski of Norwich, CT died August 16. She was born on May 29, 1929 in Norwich, CT. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Ethel (Myers) Lewis of Norwich. She attended Bishop School in Norwich, the Norwich Free Academy graduating in 1947, and then went on to Boston University graduating in 1951.
Nancy was an active parishioner at St. James Episcopal Church in Preston and Christ Episcopal Church in Norwich. She served as a vestryman at both parishes, was a chalice bearer at St. James and a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound at Christ Church. Nancy served as a lecturer and intercessor at Christ Church as well. She taught church school for thirty-five years between the two churches. Nancy was a twelfth generation descendant of William Brewster from the Mayflower.
Nancy worked at Middlesex Hospital, Holdridge's Farm Nursery and as a nursery school teacher at St. James. Nancy’s primary devotion was as a homemaker to her family making sure she was home to serve homemade cookies and milk to her children after school. Nancy was a member of Norwich Landmarks working diligently to preserve the Wauregan Hotel.
She enjoyed reading books on spirituality, history, mythology and poetry. She also enjoyed walking in the early morning to view the constellations, gardening and observing the birds at her feeders.
Nancy leaves two daughters: Linda Snarski of Norwich, Susan Coffee and husband John Coffee of Old Lyme and two sons: Richard Snarski of Marlborough and John Snarski and wife Victoria of Oakdale, seven grandchildren: Bryce Snarski-Pierce and his wife Dr. Rebecca Kivlin of New London and Kyle Snarski-Pierce and his partner Shannon Wantz of Groton, Dr. Calli Coffee Cantu and husband Fred of Massachusetts, Joshua Snarski of Willimantic, Anna Raney and husband Adam of New Hampshire, Josephine Snarski of Oakdale and great granddaughter Piper.

There are no calling hours. There will be a private burial at Maplewood Cemetery.
