Pastor Norma was born June 28, 1951 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the Daughter of the late Francisco Ramirez Sr. and Juana Ramirez Cruz.
She was a loyal member of the Church and Pastor of Iglesia Movimiento Misionero Alfa Y Omega located in Norwich, CT.
Norma was an active member in the community. She was well known for her amazing cooking and organizing church fund raisers for numerous causes. Norma had a fond love for cooking many specialty meals well known in Puerto Rico. Norma learned how to cook all of these wonderful things as a young woman growing up in Puerto Rico helping her Mother in a quaint little restaurant she owned. Norma was also well known for her baking expertise, baking many amazing things like Flan de queso, Flan de Vanilla and Zucchini bread amongst many other wonderful baking goods.
Norma was loved by so many people for the loving, giving, sweet woman she was. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren where a phone call or visit was part of her daily routine. She was a spunky woman with a bright beautiful smile that lit up a room. Her favorite pets were birds… She was called the bird lady by many because she had so many cockatiels. She would teach them to speak words, throw kisses and whistle songs. Each of her birds had a unique name and she would know which one was which no questions asked.
To many Norma was referred to as Meme a name given to her by the young children in the family.
Norma is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Pastor Julio Rios, by her 4 children, Miguel A. Rios, William Rios, Maryvel Duncan (Rios) and Luis A.
