

NORWICH, CT – Paul R. DeProfio Sr. died peacefully at home on December 1, 2016. He was the husband of Erin (O’Connor) DeProfio, and the son of the late John A. DeProfio and Felina B. (Kulikowski) DeProfio of Lowell, MA.
He was born on July 10, 1938 in Lowell, Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Keith Academy and East Coast Aeronautical Academy. He also served with the US Air Force, stationed in Bedford, MA. He relocated to Connecticut in 1959 with his wife, Frances, to accept a position at Kaman Aerospace, and raise a family. He furthered his accomplishments as co-owner of Chapel Tool Company, his aircraft manufacturing firm, specializing in private, commercial and military jet engine parts; was president of The Fish Store, Inc. and was a licensed real estate appraiser from 2002-2005.
He was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Erin; his daughter, Donna E. DeProfio and husband, Russell of West Hartford, CT; his daughter Deborah DeProfio-Kopetz and husband, Paul of Sterling, CT; his son, Paul R. DeProfio Jr and wife Karen of Charlotte, NC; his daughter, Dawn Phillips, and husband Dr. Jeff Phillips of Mascot, TN; his stepdaughter, Ryannne O’Connor, of Norwich, CT; and his beloved grandchildren, Morgan DeProfio of Charlotte, NC; Alex and Allie Kopetz of Sterling, CT, and Aurora, Aiden and Azrael Phillips of Mascot, TN; and the mother of his four children, Frances E. DeProfio-Glatz.
A memorial service will be held at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Avenue, Norwich, CT on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 6pm. A calling hour will be held one hour prior from 5pm to 6pm. A spring burial will be held at St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell, MA at a later date.
