Raymond Leo Roberts

Ray was born in Norwich on December 25, 1924, son of the late Leo and Lillian (Corby) Roberts. On September 5, 1945 he married Rose Marie MarcAurele at the St. Mary Church in Norwich. Mrs. Roberts died July 17, 2008.

An honorably discharged Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the Richard Hourigan Post of the American Legion. Ray was a Communicant of the ST. Catherine of Sienna Church, Preston, where he served as a Lector, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ray was a Teamster Local 493 driver for Rapid Transit Trucking Co and became a supervisor prior to his retirement.

Surviving is his son Richard Roberts and his wife Melinda of Plainfield, three grandchildren Keith Roberts, Rebecca Whiting, and Lisa Roberts-Sangillo along with 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is predeceased by a daughter Linda Roberts.

Family and friends may visit Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave, Norwich on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Mary Church, Central Ave. Greenville.
