Following his honorable discharge from the military, Raymond worked as an ironworker, completing his working career at General Dynamics, through to his retirement.
Raymond is survived by a son Richard Welch and his wife Nancy of Governor, NY, and is predeceased by a son Theodore Welch Sr. and daughter Patricia Welch. He also leaves behind grandchildren Tracy (Welch) Papineau, Theodore Welch Jr., Jeff Welch, Kevin Welch, Brian Welch and Marissa Welch, numerous great grandchildren and several other loved ones.
Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich on Thursday from
5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery.
