I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Richard. He was kind, loving, caring, and always made me feel like family. I remember looking forward to family get togethers with the Hadley’s, lots of good times, laughs & good food! I have many fond memories of fishing with Ant, his Dad & Sue... I have missed the conversations we used to have, and your strong, tight hugs you used to give for a long time now. I will never forget, those memories will forever be held close to my heart.♥️

TO THE HADLEY FAMILY,
RICHARD AND I HAD WORKED SEVERAL YEARS TOGETHER AT MONTVILLE CCC. I WAS SO SAD TO SEE HIS OBITUARY IN THE NEWSPAPER. RICHARD WAS A GREAT OFFICER. HE COULD RESOLVE THE WORST SITUATION WITH HIS MILD APPROACH. HOW MANY TIMES RICHARD WOULD SAY TO ME, LIEUTENANT GIVE ME A CHANCE TO CALM DOWN A SERIOUS SITUATION. HE WOULD GO AND TALK TO THE PARTIES INVOLVED AND END THE PROBLEM. HE WAS A GREAT PERSON AND WILL BE MISSED BY ALL.
AS PRESIDENT OF THE CONNECTICUT STATE EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION,CHAPTER 416,
I WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR SYMPATHY TO YOUR FAMILY FROM THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT.

My deepest and most heartfelt sympathies, prayers and love to Rich's family and friends. There are some people you meet in life who you instantly know you like and will become your friend. The first time I met Rich while working together at the Department of Correction I knew he was going to be one of those very special people that we are too seldom blessed with in life. With his kind eyes and infectious smile, Rich radiated a warmth that allowed him to make friends with anyone he met. It was my utmost honor and joy to work with Rich and be able to call him a friend. The world was a better place because of him. May God bless Rich and his family and may he rest in peace.

My favorite and funny memory of Capt. Hadley was on 3rd shift at Corrigan. At the time Capt. Hadley was the 3rd shift commander and we were talking and he had asked my age because he had a son the same age and of course the blonde I can be sometimes had asked him where his son went to school. Well to make a long story short that was the night i found out who his son was and it never once dawned on me. The funniest part of the story was Capt Hadley and his son Richie Hadley looked exactly alike!! Complete blonde moment and we both laughed on my behalf!!
My condolenses to the Hadley family he will be missed! I was lucky to had the opportunity to know and work for him! Sending many prayers to the family.
