Richard Walenda

Norwich-Richard Walenda, age 76, of Norwich passed away at Pendleton Nursing Home in Mystic on October 9, 2015. He was born in Norwich on May 21, 1939 to the late Stanley and Stephanie (Maciejka) Walenda. He married his loving wife JoAnne (Gyrion) Walenda on September 24, 1960 at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.

He is survived by a son Robert Walenda and his wife Theresa of Norwich, a son Donald Walenda and his wife Juliann of Lebanon, and triplet grandchildren Melanie, Jillian and Emmalyn. He also leaves behind a brother Walter Walenda of New Hampshire and Patricia Longo of Uncasville. He is predeceased by a brother William Walenda.

Family and friends may visit Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave, Norwich on Tuesday from 1:00 to 1:45. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Church on Cliff St. Norwich at 2:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Boswell Ave, Norwich.
