September 4, 1953 – March 9, 2021
CDR Robert F. Parico, USN (Ret.), 67, of Ledyard, CT, died peacefully at home the morning of March 9, 2021 following a courageous battle with early onset dementia, his beloved wife by his side. Bob was born September 4, 1953 in Philadelphia, son of the late Carmen and Gilda (Carano) Parico and brother of the late Richard Parico.
Bob was a 1975 graduate of Marquette University’s NROTC program and proud 23 year Naval Submarine Veteran. His service led to tours with the USS R.B. Russell, USS Archerfish (Engineer), USS Greenling (XO), and the USS Casimir Pulaski (Gold Crew), where he served as the Commanding Officer. An outstanding engineer tour resulted in the honor of being selected to the NPEB (ORSE Board Team) Pacific Fleet; other military assignments included time on the Devron 12, Squadron 2, and Submarine School staffs. Bob loved his military service, fellow servicemen, and especially his adventures at sea.
After retiring from the Navy in 1998, Bob joined Exelon Corporation, Quad Cities Unit, in Illinois where he remained until permanent retirement in 2008. He then enjoyed spending time with family, woodworking, and attending Boston College football games.
Bob is survived by his wife of almost 44 years, Liliana (DeLuca) Parico, daughter Lia Perfect and her husband Hahdi of Ledyard, CT, son Nicholas Parico of Middletown, CT, and precious grandchildren Luke and Audrey Perfect. Brother Stephan (Dodie) Parico, mother-in-law Maria Grazia DeLuca, nieces Nadia Booth, Danielle Duffy and their families, Aunt Adeline Scornajenghi, and countless cousins will also miss him.
Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen is assisting with arrangements for burial at sea and at State Veteran’s Cemetery in Middletown, CT. A memorial mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations In Robert Parico’s memory can be made to St. Vincent De Paul Place, 120 Cliff Street, Norwich, CT 06360 or a charitable organization of your choice.
The entire Parico family would like to thank caregivers Yolande and Scott, Nurse Michelle, and Vitas Hospice staff for their loving care of Bob.
“Forever out at sea.”

Lil, Diane and I are so sorry for your loss. We fondly remember the Parico clan from our days in Hawaii. Bob enjoyed life and was a proud submariner! He loved his family, his Navy and his country. Kirk
